What do the courses cover ?
Darren Isenberg & Andrew Klein, directors of corporate entertainment & training firm impact entertrainers, have eight years experience communicating with corporate groups, MCing conferences and events, running team-building activities… and now they bring what they have learned to corporate groups as part of a fun, interactive presentation skills seminar, tailored for people of all levels of experience and confidence
The tailored courses (ranging from 2 hours to a full-day) give presenters practical advice and countless skills and tips.
Areas covered can include:
  • What are the elements of a good presentation?
  • How do people learn?
  • How to present in ways that make people learn more
  • Making a presentation more interactive, entertaining and educational
  • How to avoid relying on PowerpointHow to handle difficult situations (nerves, equipment problems etc)
There are also numerous chances for participants to practice what is being preached, as well as plenty of in-built, fun learning activities to keep the audience fresh and energised (Andrew and Darren always practice what they preach!). An audience that is laughing is learning (it's a technical link which we explain in more detail during our course, but it's true!).

Apart from corporate groups, Darren and Andrew have honed their presentation skills in front of the toughest audience of all - senior High School students! They have conducted hundreds of day-long seminars in the area of study skills…and it is in these forums that they learned that it doesn't matter how important your content is, if you don't engage the audience, you won't get your message across. Believe us, students will let you know if they're bored, regardless of how vital the information is you are telling them.

The big difference between groups of students and corporate groups at conferences or meetings is that students are honest and if they're bored and learning very little, they will let you know through bad behaviour, whereas when corporate groups are bored and learning very little, they politely sit quietly, and no-one ever knows that the presentation was largely a waste of time.

Darren and Andrew give great tips on how to incorporate humour and audience interplay into a presentation, whether it is to a half-dozen business people at a meeting or at a conference to an audience of hundreds.

"The whole group was 'a buzz' after Darren's session. We have had such presentations before, but what set your presentation apart was the fact that you gave the participants practical ideas and applications, which they can take away and use immediately"
